The Boca Raton Museum of Art, one of South Florida’s leading cultural institutions, welcomed the special appearance in Palm Beach County of Ben Mankiewicz, the primetime host of Turner Classic Movies (TCM) on Saturday, December 10, 2022. Mankiewicz greeted fans and visit the Museum’s nationally acclaimed exhibition Art of the Hollywood Backdrop, now in its final two months of a spectacular run.
“I am honored to have been invited by the Boca Raton Museum of Art to be part of the Art of the Hollywood Backdrop, before this stellar museum experience concludes its successful debut,” said Ben Mankiewicz.
“There are so many avid film lovers and TCM fans in South Florida who love seeing this exhibition, a testament to the power of classic Hollywood films,” adds Ben Mankiewicz.
Joining Mankiewicz at the meet-and-greet event at the Museum on the Dec. 10th event will be one of the exhibition’s co-curators, Thomas A. Walsh ‒ the Emmy Award-winning art director from Hollywood who (along with co-curator Karen L. Maness) helped to preserve these historic film backdrops from America’s Golden Age of cinema.
Mankiewicz and Walsh were also the guests of honor joining community leaders and dignitaries at the sold-out, private fundraising event at the historic resort The Boca Raton, benefiting the Museum.
