'Tis the season for giving, as legendary boxing promoter Don King donated 60 turkeys to help local families. The turkey giveaway is part of his annual tour this time of year. Friday, December 15, 2017, King teamed up with Royal Palm Hearing Aid Centers, the Kiwanis Club of Boca Raton and Addison Appraisal to deliver and distribute the frozen turkeys and spread some holiday cheer for children and families in need in Palm Beach County. King and the organizers say they know the importance of giving back especially during the holidays.
Organizers delivered the turkeys, 7 carts of holiday food and baked goods donated by Fresh Market (Store 28) on Camino Real to many grateful recipients at Boca Helping Hands & Florence Fuller Child Development Centers. Five turkeys were donated to 211 families. Donations were also graciously given to Wayne Barton Study Center. Don King also handed out turkeys at St. Paul Church in Deerfield.
